CST Priestly Formation

The aim of CST Formation is the development of the whole person. Being transformed into the likeness of Christ, the candidates grow in charity and in CST fraternity as a community of love in the heart of the Church. The whole CST formation aims to help the candidates grow into Christ-like personalities dedicated to the loving service of God, the Church, and their neighbour. It consists in the perfection of love, which enables them to lead a radical and intense life of the evangelical counsels and to become visible signs of the fullness of life on earth.

Join Us

In the CST way of life, this call is lived as a journey of discipleship, fraternity, and mission. It is an invitation to grow in friendship with Jesus, to walk together as brothers, and to dedicate one's life to the service of God, the Church, and humanity.

Who am I called to become?

You may dream of becoming a teacher, doctor, engineer, scientist, social worker, entrepreneur, artist, or priest. These are important choices that help define your career and contribution to society.

What Is a Vocation?

A vocation is more than a career; it is God's personal call to your life. It is His invitation to discover your true purpose and become the person He created you to be.

Who Are You Called to Become?

Life is full of choices. Every day, we make decisions—what to wear, what to study, whom to befriend, and how to spend our time. As we grow, however, we encounter a deeper question that shapes the direction of our entire life:

Novitiate | School of Discipleship

The Novitiate is a sacred journey of walking closely with Christ and learning to be His disciple. During this year of prayer, discernment, fraternity, and formation, the novice deepens his relationship with the Lord, discovers the beauty of the CST vocation, and prepares himself to follow Christ more generously in the service of God, the Church, and humanity. This stage comprises one full year.

Philosophy | Growing in the Mind and Heart of Christ

The CST formation programme includes 2–3 years of philosophical and secular studies that help the students acquire a solid and consistent understanding of the human person, the world, and God. Inspired by Christ, the Teacher, Priest, and Shepherd, they are formed to think critically, live wisely, and prepare themselves for a life of dedicated service in the Church and society.

Regency | Growing into an Integrated Religious

The Regency is a period of practical formation and pastoral exposure that enables the candidates to integrate the values learned during their earlier stages of formation with the realities of ministry and community life. Through hands-on experience in the apostolate, they grow in maturity, responsibility, and commitment to the CST charism and mission.

Theology | Encountering God, Embracing the Mission

During 3–4 years of theological formation, the scholastics deepen their relationship with God and discover how His Word speaks to the realities of today's world. As they grow in faith, wisdom, and pastoral sensitivity, they prepare themselves to become joyful witnesses of Christ and dedicated servants of His people. To broaden their vision and pastoral experience, CST theologians are sent to various seminaries in India and abroad, including Pune, Allahabad, Delhi, Mangalapuzha, Italy, and Africa. Exposure to diverse cultures and traditions helps prepare them for effective ministry in a multicultural Church.

Ongoing Formation | Becoming More Like Christ Every Day

Formation does not end with ordination or profession. It is a lifelong adventure of growing closer to Christ, renewing one's passion for the Gospel, and responding creatively to the needs of the Church and the world.
