Considering the future needs of Little Flower Mission, UP-Nepal, which would be declared as an independent Province very soon and the felt need to have a Mission House for the Fathers as well as for the facilitation of the First Year of Minor Seminary in Kerala, 07.72 acres of land was purchased on 03 October 2001 from Mr. Kuruvila Thoomkuzhy. Fr John Vadakkel, along with a helper, started to stay in a rented house at Cheruthuruthy on 15 October 2001. Meanwhile the existing temporary shed in the purchased land was repaired and made living-friendly and was blessed by Very Rev. Fr. Robert Kalaran, the Superior General, in April 2002. Fr John Vadakkel was appointed as the Superior of the Ashram. The foundation stone for the Mission House and Seminary was blessed and laid by Rev Fr George Aranchery on 12 September 2002. Rev Fr Benoy Palakkuzhy was appointed to look after the construction works and the cultivation of the land. Very Rev Fr John Olickal, the then Provincial Superior, blessed the new building on 03 June 2003. Formation for the first batch of the First Year Minor Seminarians commenced on the same day. Rev Fr Matthew Puthenpura was appointed the Rector and Superior of the House. The Chapel and the Mission House were officially blessed by Archbishop Most Rev Jacob Thoomkuzhy, the then Archbishop of Thrissur, on 21 September 2003. A Burial Vault was constructed on the ground floor of the building (Chapel side) and Fr. Thomas Plathottam CST was the first person buried here and Fr. John Kulathinkal, the second person. The Office of the Vocation Promoter is also located here. In addition to seminary formation and recruitment, our Fathers provide pastoral services to neighbouring Parishes. In 2019, the transit wing of the Seminary was expanded to include more guest rooms, to accommodate our Fathers undergoing medical treatment and spending holidays in Kerala.
