Jungle Sikri
In view of the future needs of Little Flower Mission as a Region, Vice Province and later raised to the status of a Province on 05 March 2003, Fr. John Kulathinkal, then Regional Superior of Little Flower Region, visualized to construct its Regional House and a small plot of land was purchased in 1998 at Village Jungle Sikri, on the Deoria-Gorakhpur Bye-pass Road. More land was purchased in the course of time and now we have about 15 acres of land here. In September 2001 Little Flower Society was registered and the registered office was mentioned as Little Flower Provincial House, Jungle Sikri, Gorakhpur. The plan to shift the Provincial House to Jungle Sikri was dropped due to various reasons. A temporary building for the ashram in Jungle Sikri was blessed on 24 August 2002 and Fathers started staying there from 01 January 2003. On 02 February 2005 Foundation Stone for Little Flower Vocational Training Institute was laid by Bishop Dominic Kokkat CST and the Fabrication unit was inaugurated on the same day. An Automobile Workshop was inaugurated on 12 June 2007. For the rehabilitation of children in distress, orphans and street children, Little Flower Province started ‘Prateeksha’ – a Shelter Home in the same Campus in July 2006. Our Fathers through Verein Der Little Flower Provinz, Germany mobilized financial support for the Shelter Home and other activities at Jungle Sikri. Another landmark event in Jungle Sikri was the inauguration of the Polytechnic on 10 October 2010, which was approved by AICTE and affiliated with the U.P. Board of Technical Education. A new priest house and Ashram building was blessed on 03 September 2011. The “Maria Bhavan” wing of Prateeksha was remodelled and extended with two more wings for safety and security of the children and was inaugurated on 27 February 2017. The “Maria Bhavan” converted into a girls’ hostel and was inaugurated on 06 August 2018. The cemetery chapel for the province is built in jungle Sikri and it was blessed on 27 November 2019 by His Excellency Mar Thomas Thuruthimattam CST, in the presence of General and Provincial administration of the congregation. Fr Benny Konnoran is buried in this chapel. Later, the Automobile Workshop was closed down and the Fabrication Works were carried on in the name of Jyoti Enterprises, which is registered as Sole Proprietorship and new services like candle making, host making etc were added. Little Flower Society, a Registered Charitable Society, undertakes many rural development and empowerment programmes in the selected Villages of Khorabar Block from the beginning of the Ashram. The office of CHILDLINE Nodal Organization under DISA was functioning in the Campus since 16 November 2005 to 31 August 2023 till the programme was handed over to Gorakhpur District Administration and Little Flower Society as well as Prateeksha were the Supporting Organizations of CHILDLINE Programme
